I usually hex with LNZ Pro & Pet Workshop, occasionally Hex Workshop. I find using a hex editor annoying so I mainly stick to LNZ Pro. Spots and movement of ballz are normally done in Pet Workshop, every so often I use LNZ Pro for as well. And basic coloring/color changing is done in both. I use WordPad to change the color of multiple spots (100+), and I always edit the breedfile. So anyway I usually plan out a color scheme before I hex, and then I just randomly add things and change colors and combine as much as I can think of to make something look good. Usually takes a few hours to get something exactly right, or often I will work on something over a few weeks just so I have a fresh approach each time I come back to the hex. Other times I'll have a specific inspiration (such as an ice cream or something) and my litter will be based off of that. Or I have some random idea in my head that I think would look good and I try it out, more often then not it turns out completely different :P And I also much prefer to hex dogz more than catz. Yup, so theres how I hex ^^
History of Xoops...
The name Xoops came from an advanced portal system script thing, that I came across while exploring things I could do with my website. I do not know if the name I got my site name from is pronounced the same way as I'am pronouncing it, but whatever. On the Xoops official site it says this --> XOOPS is a dynamic OO (Object Oriented) based open source portal system written in PHP. XOOPS is the ideal tool for developing small to large dynamic community websites, intra company portals, corporate portals, weblogs and much more.
Now originally Xoops was dedicated to the muttlie breed made by NatureNut. Unfortunately I lost interest in muttlies (don't get me wrong, I still love the ones I have though :D) as well as much of the rest of the PC. Xoops remained a muttlie site from June 8th, 2004 until April 1st, 2005. Then the site sat all lonesome from April, 2005 until July 9th, 2006.
At this time I reopened Xoops, but not as a muttlie site, instead as a subsite to my main one Oasis, as a Hexie Only site (and a petz 5 only one). It was made as a way to.. well for one do something with the site, and two, to get me to hex more often. If I had a site made for hexies then I would feel more obligated to hex xD Anyways, Xoops reopened on July 9, 2006 officially. And on January 1, 2007 Xoops officially became a petz 3+ hexie site instead of P5 only!
Unfortunately I got tired of worrying about making litters and answering adoption e-mails and such, so Xoops became a Hexie Archive rather than adoption site. But nevertheless still serves its purposes and motivates me to hex ^^
Past Layouts
Version 1
Sorta turquoisy colored, inline frame with picture border, navigation was at the botom of the border. I hadn't intended to make very many layouts for Xoops, but I kinda got bored with this and had to make a new one xD None of my layouts had names.
Duration: June 8th to August 3rd, 2004
Version 2
A darker version, basically different variations of greys, blacks etc. Inline frame with a left and right frame inside that. A drop-down menu changed the sublinks in the left frame.
Duration: August 3rd to October 30th, 2004
Version 3
The only layout with a name.. "The Wonders of Autumn". This one was by far my favorite layout. It had pretty autumn leaves and autumn colors (green, red, orange). It had the same format and such of the previous layout, just different pictures/colors. I forgot to get a picture of it though before I put up the new layout :/

Version 4
The last layout for Xoops as a muttlie site. Another inline frame, links above the frame and below the header picture. 'Twas very pink and black.

Version 1 (Again!)
The first layout for Xoops as a hex site. Red, Black, and Blue (with bits of white) Right, middle, and left frames. Links in the left frame. I really liked this layout, its simple but nice :D

Version 2
Based off of a layout I did for Oasis <3 You know what I realized, the time frame that I wait until I change the layout for this site has slowly gotten longer and longer xD First it was like 2 months, then 3, then 5, then a year and 4 months... xDD You get the idea.. I should really change the layout more often :S
